Dressed up in adorable polka dots and topped with bright, colourful flowers, these handmade cactus babies can’t get any cuter!
In this course, I’m sharing my techniques to creating chubby little cacti using 180gsm Italian Crepe Paper. I’ll also share my tips and tricks for potting your cactus.
Who is this course for?
Everyone is welcome to join the course! No experience necessary.
What is your teaching style?
I love teaching and I'm here to show you my tried and tested methods for crafting a crepe paper cactus. However, I never want to discourage you from experimenting on your own, so while I’m showing you my preferred steps, I also encourage you to have fun and change up the colours, shapes or sizes in order to personalise your cacti creations!
Do you provide templates and instructions?
For this course, NO templates or instructions sheets are provided. As the techniques are slightly more complicated and harder for me to describe in words, I find it more useful to offer a "DIY Template" chapter where we make our template together as well as go through the steps one by one. I'll show you how I write my notes on the template itself, which becomes a helpful visual tool for future reference, versus a lengthy instruction sheet.
Where do I get the materials?
I've added links to online suppliers or my local sources in the text within the course.
How do I care for my crepe paper cacti?
If possible, please keep your crepe paper flowers away from moisture, direct sunlight, or any harsh indoor lighting... it's paper after all! Nonetheless, fading is quite normal especially for the darker shades. You may consider purchasing a UV Protection spray too if you'd like to avoid any fading (though the faded shades do have a nice vintage feel to them too)
How do I show off my completed cactus?
I would love to see your creations! Do feel free to tag me @misspetalandbloom if you're on instagram.
*It would be wonderful if no one copies, reproduces, redistributes, or resells any part of MP&B’s videos/pattern/ templates/ instructions. I sincerely hope that out of mutual respect to me as an artist and instructor, that you would not take this content and teach it to others for profit.
However, you are more than welcome to sell the completed bloom. If you do so, accreditation to Miss Petal & Bloom would be awesome (i.e. just a note somewhere to credit me and the video, as simple as that!). I would sincerely appreciate this so much, because your support and acknowledgement allows me to keep doing what I love to do. :)
